 HOUSE OF EUROPE

This is a University-owned and recently restored traditional Cretan mansion.  The name “House of Europe” was chosen to symbolize the University’s European orientation.  The house is situated in the old part of town, which is itself a “preserved monument”.  Guests can take the opportunity to wander around the old town’s narrow streets and discover its renaissance atmosphere. 

The house is used to accommodate university lecturers and visiting students from Europe.  It has 9 double rooms (twin bedded) and 2 single rooms, one of which may accommodate a second single bed.  All rooms have a bathroom, desk and air-conditioning, and some have balconies viewing the interior yard or the two roads whereas others only have windows.  In addition to the reception and lounge, the house has a library and meeting room, a lounge with coffee, TV and music, a dining room, two interior yards and a veranda with a view of the sea.
