Vangelis Tzouvelekas
Short Presentation
Vangelis Tzouvelekas is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Crete.
His education includes a B.A. in Economics from the University of Piraeus (1992), an M.A. in Rural Development (1993) and an M.Sc. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (1994) and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth (1998).
During 1995-2000 and 2001-2003 he was employed as a Research Associate and Researcher, respectively in the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology of the National Agricultural Research Foundation of Greece, and in 2000-2002 he was a visiting Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Crete.
He has several publications in international refereed journals, collective volumes and proceedings, over 30 contributions in international and Greek conferences, he has authored two books and he has served as a referee for international journals.
He has participated in several European and Greek research projects in the field of Agricultural Economics and Regional Economic Development. He is a member of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE), of the Greek Association of Agricultural Economics (ETAGRO), Agricultural Economics Society (AES) and the Productivity Analysis Research Network (PARN).
His main research interests include: Productivity and Efficiency Measurement, Econometrics of Panel Data, Stochastic Frontier Modeling, Rural Development, Organic Farming, Input-Output Models.
